The strictly limited Cult wine was sourced from the outstanding and very low-yielding 100+ year-old “Mandic” vineyard, owned by third-generation growers, the Marshall family, in the classic Barossa Valley sub-region of Kalimna.

Only new and second-year French Oak was used in the maturation of this Shiraz, which was picked at optimum ripeness and fermented dry after an initial period of cold soaking on skins to extract maximum colour and flavour. After 24 months in barrel, the wine was bottled with minimal filtration.
The 2010 Kalimna “Old Vine” Shiraz is a deeply coloured wine, showcasing the rich, sweet red and black berry character you would expect from such an aged vineyard. Its spiced notes blend perfectly with fine tannins and balanced natural acidity, creating a beautifully long finish. This wine epitomizes the fully satisfying, saturated Barossa ‘Old Vine’ character. The Cult was born.
The design brief for this wine pack tasked our Industrial Designers with capturing the essence of Dracula, which was incorporated into the label artwork. The packaging was shaped like a coffin to evoke a Transylvanian feel. This theme extended to the photoshoot, which was held at Kew Cemetery, complete with our trusty vampire model. As you can see, joining The Cult is an absolutely terrifying prospect.
